Technical Information

This page tells you about the kind of equipment we usually provide as standard, along with our requirements for stage area, power and more.

Don't get too worried if the information here is confusing, or doesn't seem to match what you think you can provide, or you don't know what the venue has. Just give us a call and we'll talk it through with you. We're quite friendly, and will try not to scare you off - all we want to do is provide the very best service we can and make your event memorable for good reasons, not the alternative!

Our own 2kW PA is sufficient for indoor events of up to 500 people - for more than this we'll discuss PA hire with you, which would be an extra cost. We also bring lights, which are LED based so don't consume much power or generate heat. Guitar and bass amps and keyboard need power too. All this is too much for one 13A power socket. Three will do, as close to the stage as possible.

We'll need a playing area of roughly 6m by 4m as a minimum. It needs to be firm and dry for safety, so if we're in something like a marquee then a quality hard floor is essential. We'll need somewhere for the sound desk too, up to 25m from the stage, with its own power.

A private changing area is important. If you're feeding your guests then we'd be grateful if you had enough for us too!

We need about two hours to set up and an hour to pack up afterwards. There's a lot of heavy gear to move so easy, level access with parking close by would be appreciated.

Two one-hour sets or three 40-minute sets is the usual running time. Please call us if you want something different. We can provide pre-recorded music for between sets too if required, but please talk to us first.

Of course we carry Public Liability Insurance to £5m, and all of our electrical equipment is fully tested and PAT certified. Please get in touch if you'd like to see copies of these documents.
